By Tim Glon
Senior Drew Keriazes shattered his own school record in the 200 breast on the fourth and final day of the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championships Saturday afternoon at the Conroe Natatorium in Shenandoah, Tex.
He also combined with senior Marc Anderson, junior Jordan Breitigam and junior Christian Garlock to finish 24th in the 400 Free Relay in 3:11.71.
Keriazes finished 19th in 2:04.47, beating his school record by nearly two seconds.
On Friday, Breitigam earned Honorable Mention All-America honors by finishing ninth in 1:47.46, which broke his school record set in the prelims Friday afternoon.
His time was also the third-fastest in the meet and was better than six of the eight men in the finals.
Breitigam was ninth in the prelims in 1:48.76, which was just .16 seconds shy of eighth place and was a new ONU record at the time.
The top eight in each event earn All-American status and finishers 9-16 earn Honorable All-American honors.
This will be the second consecutive season Breitigam can earn All-American status, as he finished in 13th place at last year's championships.
Also on Friday, Keriazes finished 22nd of 32 swimmers in the 100 breaststroke, posting a time of 57.11 seconds.
The foursome earned Honorable Mention All-American status in both the 200 and 400 medley relay earlier in the week.
ONU was 15th in the 200 medley relay in 1:32.25 on Wednesday and was 14th in 3:25.76 in the 400 medley relay on Thursday.
As a team, Ohio Northern sits tied for 24th with 19 points in the meet.
The Polar Bears posted an 10-2 record and won their ninth consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference title in 2012-13 under ninth-year head coach Peggy Ewald.
