Opioid crisis discussion is a brown-bag event on Monday
Cuyahoga County (Ohio) Medical Examiner Dr. Thomas Gilson will provide an update on the current state of the opioid crisis in Ohio during a brown-bag seminar at noon Monday, Feb. 10, in the McIntosh Center Wishing Well at Ohio Northern University.
The event, which is sponsored by the Northern Opioid Alliance, is free and open to the public.
Gilson has been the director of the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner and Crime Laboratory since 2011. He has previously served as chief medical examiner for the State of Rhode Island as well as a deputy chief medical examiner for the City of New York, state of New Hampshire, and state of Connecticut.
He is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic, Clinical, and Forensic Pathology. During the height of the opioid crisis, he testified before a U.S. Senate subcommittee on the subject.
