ONU esports team battles Cincinnati for Ohio championship
The Ohio Northern Esports will battle Cincinnati for the Ohio Championship of the National Esports Conference Tournament .
The Polar Bears reached the finals with a 3-1-1 victory over Ohio State in the semifinals on April 23 and a 3-0 sweep of Kent State in the quarterfinals on April 16.
The NEC is offering state tournaments for a handful of states and is currently one of the highest levels of collegiate Esports around the country.
All players on all teams are playing remotely to conform with the state social distancing guidelines.
Ohio Northern finished the spring regular season with a 5-3 NEC record in Overwatch and a 3-4 NEC record in LOL this season. Fans interested in watching the games can watch online on Ohio Northern's twitch page.
ONU head coach Troy Chiefari: Chiefari is in his first season at ONU with a 27-5 record in Overwatch and a 22-7 record in League of Legends.
