The following notice is from the estate of Dr. DeBow Freed:

The Estate of Dr. DeBow Freed regretfully announces that the memorial service scheduled for June 23, 2020, at West Point is postponed.  

Unfortunately, due to the uncertainty the Covid-19 pandemic has created, a new date cannot yet be set.

DeBow Freed held many roles, but underneath them all he was a scientist. His decision-making process was to gather and carefully consider all information before proceeding. His decisions were thoughtful, thorough, and unhurried. We will do as he would and follow the science to know when it is safe to reschedule the service.  

Please know that honoring Dr. Freed’s wishes while maintaining the safety of the attendees are our primary concerns.  We will notify you of the new date when it is available.
