Bulldog runners take significant time off previous season-best

COLUMBUS GROVE - The Ada cross country teams competed at the annual 45-team Columbus Grove Invitational last Saturday at Clymer Stadium.
All six Bulldog runners took significant time off their previous season-best times.
Ada junior Riley Ferguson finished 55th out of 86 runners to pace the Bulldog boys in the red division race. He covered 3.1 miles in a season-best 20:59.15.
Bulldog sophomore Robby Waters ended up 70th in a time of 22:35.73. Classmate Connor Daugherty came in 77th in 23:57.01.
Alan Fullenkamp, a senior from Botkins, won the race in 17:00.18. Botkins won the 16-team boys red division title with 36 points, followed by Lincolview (75) and Kalida (79).
Botkins also won the girls red division team title with 35 points. Edgerton was a distant second with 71 points. Hopewell-Loudon was third (88) and Antwerp fourth (89).
Ada did not have the requisite five runners to record a team score in boys or girls.
Freshman Elsie Allen paced the Lady Bulldog runners with a time of 31:31.91, good for 76th place. Classmate Jillian Hazelton came in 77th in 32:58.57. Freshman Malia Santillanez ended up 78th in 32:58.69.
Freshman Brittany Arnold of Botkins won the 78-runner girls individual race in 19:41.71.
Ada runs next at the Riverdale Invitational Thursday, September 10.
