100 families; 38,356 pounds of food
The West Ohio Food Bank conducted a food distribution on "Hunger Action Day" on Sept. 10, on the campus of Ohio Northern University.
During the event, 100 families, most from Hardin County, were served. The West Ohio Food Bank distributed 38,356 pounds of food during the afternoon.
“September is Hunger Action Month, and the West Ohio Food Bank, an affiliate member of national organization Feeding America, continues to try to do major distributions in all 11 counties it serves throughout western Ohio,” said Jason Aldrich of the food bank.
The Ohio National Guard assisted in the distribution.
“They have been helping the West Ohio Food Bank all through the COVID-19 pandemic, and although they are slowly phasing out soldiers, they continue to be of major assistance to the food bank and its mission,” Aldrich added.
