Steve Greer was an avid outdoorsman
Claude Stephen “Steve” Greer, 65, died on Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at 5:47 p.m. at his residence in Ada.
He was born on Aug. 25, 1955, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to Claude and Vernice (Compton) Russell. His father preceded him death and his mother survives in Alger.
Steve was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed trapping, fishing, and hunting. He ran a bait shop for several years and raised pheasant and quail for release. Steve loved flea markets and yard sales. He had a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. Steve was a born again Christian. He took tremendous pleasure and pride in his grandchildren.
He is also survived by a son, Robert Greer of Defiance; two daughters: Heather McKinney of Alger and Emily (Steven) Hardesty of Lima; and seven grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
