LEIPSIC - The visiting Ada volleyball team was swept by Leipsic in a non-league makeup match Saturday morning.
The 25-18, 25-9, 25-14 loss evened the Lady Bulldog overall record at 5-5. Leipsic improved to 6-2 with the straight-set victory.
Senior Megan Light led Ada with 13 kills and eight digs. Senior Miranda Wills racked up 18 digs, four kills, one ace and two blocks.
Bulldog junior Kirsten Poling doled out 14 assists, while sophomore Courtney Sumner came up with nine digs and served one ace.
The Bulldog reserves lost 2-0 to drop to 3-7. The Ada freshman team also fell in straight sets.
Ada plays another makeup match at Waynesfield-Goshen (3-6, 1-4 home) Monday night in an effort to snap a three-match losing skid.
The Bulldogs (0-2 NWC) then host backyard league rival Allen East (6-3, 1-0 NWC) Tuesday, September 22 on Senior Night.
"It's going to be a tough match," said Ada third-year head coach Kyleigh Tabor. "We need to take care of the ball on our side and eliminate errors.
"Last year we came up short in a hard-fought, back and forth five-set match," she added.
The Mustangs rallied from a 2-1 deficit to edge the Bulldogs 17-15 in the decisive fifth set of the intense battle at Harrod.
Ada is 4-1 at home and 1-4 on the road this season, while AE is 2-1 at home. The Mustangs beat W-G 3-1 on Sept. 5.
