The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office has received grant funding for deputies
to work the High Velocity Traffic Enforcement Program on overtime hours for
the program year Oct.1, 2020 through Sept. 30, 2021, according to Dennis Burns, chief deputy with the department.

The grant totaling $30,239.83, provides funding for deputy overtime and
related expenses for selective traffic enforcement – focusing on state and
community highway safety; impaired driving enforcement efforts – focusing
on repeat drunk driving offenders; and drugged driving enforcement.

The grant is provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation and is
administered by the Ohio Traffic Safety Office of the Ohio Department of
Public Safety.
