Volleyball: Ada crushes Rams

McGUFFEY - The visiting Ada volleyball team swept local arch-rival Upper Scioto Valley in a non-conference volleyball match to end the regular season Thursday night on an up note.
Ada won 25-13, 25-16, 25-16 to end the regular season 9-11.
USV fell to 1-14 with the defeat.
Senior middle Megan Light led Ada with 11 kills, six digs and six aces. Versatile senior Miranda Wills compiled 11 kills, seven digs, three blocks and served three aces.
Junior setter Kirsten Poling doled out 22 assists and also came up with 10 digs, three kills and three blocks.
Senior Kylie Acheson knocked down four kills. Sophomore Courtney Sumner mustered nine digs, while junior Alexis White hustled up seven digs.
The Ada girls finished 5-5 on the road and 4-6 at home.
The Bulldog reserves also won 2-0 to improve their final record to 7-13.
Fifth-seeded Ada faces four seed Lima Temple Christian in the second sectional final at New Bremen Thursday, October 22. The match will start at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The Lady Bulldog/Pioneer winner would then likely take on top-seeded NB (19-1) in the distict semifinals.
Eleventh-seeded USV visits county rival Ridgemont, the 10th seed, in first round sectional play October 20 at 5 p.m. The winner will take on host New Bremen in the first sectional final Oct. 22 at NB.
The Cardinals will be heavily favored against the Ridgemont/Upper Scioto Valley winner in the sectional finals.
