Ronald "Pud" Dearth was a 39-year Ford employee
Ronald E. “Pud” Dearth, age 80, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 5:05 AM at his residence in Ada.
He was born on Dec. 7, 1939, in Ada, Ohio, to the late Edwin Dearth and Mary J. (Reed) Dearth McCartney. Pud was first married to Barbara Adams and they divorced. On Oct. 29, 1993, he married Shirley Hastings and she died on April 9, 2005.
Pud retired from Ford Motor Company of Lima in 1998 after working for 39 years. He was president of the Dad’s Club of Foreign Service Veterans at the Ada VFW Post #9381.
He is survived by a son: Michael (Kerry) Dearth of Ada; a daughter-in-law: Jennifer Dearth of Ada; seven grandchildren; a brother, Danny Dearth of Roosevelt, Utah; and two sisters, Ruth Ann (Dennis) Shaw of Lima and Deb (Randy) Kirkendahl of Westminster.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Dearth and a brother, Gerald “Ponch” Dearth.
It was his wish to be cremated. Private family services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
