Karen E. Grant, 69, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at 1:33 p.m. at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

She was born on April 21, 1951, in Lima, Ohio to Elliott and Martha (McWhorter) Schoonover who preceded her in death. On Feb. 3, 1973, she married Carey L. Grant and he preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 2013.

Karen retired in April of 2013 from the Allen County Recorder’s Office after working for 25 years.   

Surviving are two sons: Todd Grant of Lima and Chad Grant of LaFayette; a daughter, Gina (Matt) Hawk of LaFayette; four grandchildren: Seirs Stanley, Liberty Hawk, Grant Hawk and Guy Kohlrieser; two brothers: Elliott Richard (Linda) Schoonover of Celina and Michael William (Marla Bolen) Schoonover of Wapakoneta.

It was Karen’s request to be cremated.
