Billy Sherman was retired from Bass Trucking
Billy L. Sherman, 74, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021, at 10:24 p.m. at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on Aug. 29, 1946, in Indiana to the late Kenneth C. and Mertis Sherman. On June 13, 1973, Billy married Betty Jo Gardner and she preceded him in death on Nov. 5, 2012.
Billy retired from Bass Trucking of Ada. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Ada VFW Post #9381.
Surviving is a son, Kenny (Nicci) Sherman of Ada; two step sons: Terry (Dana) Boutwell of Ada and Grover Boutwell of Roundhead; three step daughters: Ann (Gary) Miller of Lima, Donna Hefner of LaFayette and Monica (Clark) Slater of Michigan; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Peggy (Dave) Levine of Florida.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sonja and a sister, Mary.
It was his wish to be cremated. Private family services will be held at a later date.
