Rebekah Walker and Alyssa Wince are the Ada High School Elk’s teenagers of the month for April. Both are seniors.

Rebekah Walker
Rebekah is active in several school organizations. These include on the school yearbook staff, Language Club, Film Club and National Honor Society. She has maintained a 4.0 grade point average, qualifying for an academic letter/pin as a junior and senior.

As a junior she had an art piece accepted in the Governor’s Art Show. She also was recognized by Ohio State University for a drawing she created.

Outside of school, Rebekah is active in her church. Her participation includes serving in a youth group and participating in Bible quizzing.  She received fifth place in an international quiz and first place in a one-on-one quiz.

Last summer she served in her church Bible Club. She has translated and communicated with a group of Spanish speaking children unable to speak English. She has also helped several visiting missionaries and has served at the New Path Pregnancy Recourse Center for the past three years.

She has also performed in two drama, one at Encore Theatre, Lima, and one in her church.

Rebekah intends to attend Ohio State University where she hopes to major in engineering and minor in graphic design.

She is the daughter of John Walker.

Alyssa Wince
Alyssa  is active is several school organizations including Varsity Singer. This year she is one of the Singers co-presidents. She has also played in the marching band, where she earned the Marching Band Award her sophomore year.

She was inducted into the Ada High School National as a junior. She was received third place for a dramatic reading in the Ada HS Interclass Competition.

Alyssa was in two previous school musicals, as an eighth grader and as a sophomore. As a sophomore, in Shrek, she played the part of Pinocchio and was nominated most comical female actor.

She has been a 4-H members since third grade. During that time she has taken rabbits, market rabbits, broiler chickens, market goats and dairy beef feeders to the fair. She also received a state award for her skirt in the sew fun project. She also received several showmanship awards.

Alyssa served in many 4-H leadership roles including president of Ada Barnyard Farmers, Hardin County Fair junior fair board goat committee head and as a 4-H camp counselor.

Following high school she hopes to attend college and major in animal science and pursue a career as a veterinarian.

She is the daughter of James and Jennifer Wince and Anne and Jeff Reed.
