Bulldog boys take down Musketeers

ADA - The host Ada baseball team built a big lead and held off a late Fort Jennings comeback attempt to win 7-5 Wednesday evening in a non-conference contest.
The Bulldogs snapped a five-game losing skid and improved to 6-10 following the win. The Musketeers dropped to 3-14 with the defeat.
Ada scored three runs in the home second to take the early lead and never trailed. FJ plated two runs in the top of the third to pull within a run.
The Bulldogs seized control with a four-run fifth frame to build a 7-2 cushion.
The Musketeers came back with two runs in the sixth inning, then added a run in the seventh but ultimately came up two short.
Senior Jacob Poling paced the Ada offense with three hits. Sophomore Roman Snyder collected two hits, two runs and two runs batted in.
Sophomore Jacob Sutherly contributed a hit, two walks, two runs and one RBI to the winning effort. Sophomore Spencer Wall drew a walk and scored one run.
Sophomore winning pitcher Levi Sousley smacked a two-run double and scored once. Junior Tyler Jameson added a run.
Senior right-hander Trent Ennis came on in relief and earned the save.
FJ out-hit Ada, 8-6. Junior Jon Grote took the pitching loss for the Musketeers.

Ada (1-4 NWC) is slated to host NWC leader Lincolnview (13-4, 5-0 NWC) Thursday, May 6. The Lancers were ranked fourth in the latest state poll.
Ada plays at non-league foe Vanlue (1-13) Friday, May 7.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to play a makeup league game at Paulding (12-6, 5-1 NWC) Monday, May 10.
