ONU students, organizations honored at 15th annual President’s Leadership Dessert
Ohio Northern University honored student leaders and organizations during the 15th annual President’s Leadership Dessert on May 1.
The DeBow Freed Leadership Awards, the highest level of recognition for excellence in student leadership, were presented to a male and female from each of the University’s undergraduate classes. In addition, three student organizations were honored with the Alice-Kay Hilderbrand Student Organization of the Year Award in recognition of their active leadership roles at ONU and positive contributions to the campus community.
Recipients of the leadership awards were R. Tyler Reams, a freshman accounting major from Washington Court House, Ohio; Amy Tabar, a freshman biochemistry ACS certified major from Hinkley, Ohio; Tyler Hertenstein, a sophomore engineering education major from St. Marys, Ohio; Kelsi Rupersburg, a sophomore communication arts/public relations major from Wapakoneta, Ohio; Eric Ambos, a junior management major from Botkins, Ohio; Daniella Chambers, a junior international studies/political science major from Fremont, Ohio; Zachary Esterline, a senior political science/psychology major from Defiance, Ohio; and Tera Parrella, a fourth-year pharmacy major from Lewis Center, Ohio.
Honored with the Alice-Kay Hilderbrand Student Organization of the Year Award were the Student-Society of Health System Pharmacists (second runner-up), Habitat for Humanity (runner-up) and the Student Planning Committee (first place).
