Bessie Risner retired after 40 years at Hardin Memorial Hospital
Bessie L. Risner, 83, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 7:30 p.m. at Marion General Hospital.
She was born on March 21, 1938, in Goodloe, Kentucky, to the late Elisha and Mallie Marie (Centers) Hicks. On June 30, 1956, Bessie married Rev. Homer “Russel” Risner and he preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1987.
Bessie retired from Hardin Memorial Hospital after working for over 40 years as a nursing assistant. She was a member of the High Street Freewill Baptist Church of Ada.
Bessie is survived by her two sons and daughter: Daniel Risner of Kenton, Steve (Heather) Risner of Covington and Susan (Fred) Myers of Paris, Ky.; son-in-law, David Glowczewski of Pine, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a brother, Enoch Hicks of Kenton; and two sisters: Charlotte (Terry) Hamm of Kenton and Sharon (John) Riley of Huntington, W.V.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherrie Glowczewski; and seven brothers and one sister.
Funeral Services will begin at noon on Friday, June 25, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger, with Pastor Don Webb officiating.
The funeral service for Bessie will be live streamed on the Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services Facebook Page beginning at noon on Friday, June 25.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, June 25, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger.
