Zac Dysert signs four-year contract with Denver Broncos
The biggest news in Ada – Zac Dysert – only gets bigger. Late last week the Ada High School graduate signed a four-year contract with the Denver Broncos.
The seventh-round draft pick’s contract included a $48,200 signing bonus. Now it’s Dysert’s job to mak the 53-member Denver roster. The contract covers 2013 through 2016.
According to a report in The Denver Post:
“I was talking to my agent (Mike McCartney, son of Hall of Fame college coach Bill McCartney) before the draft and this was our No. 1 pick,” said Dysert.
“Everything worked out perfectly. I did take a visit here — loved it from the minute I got here. It was like, ‘God’s got a perfect plan for me and this is the place for me for his plan to work out great.’ I’m here for a reason, so I’m just going to take it as best as I can and run with the opportunity that I have.”
The Post reported that the Broncos kept three quarterbacks last year because second-stringer Brock Osweiler was a rookie and third-stringer Caleb Hanie was veteran insurance.
But now that Osweiler is the most experienced of the backups to Peyton Manning, it’s possible the Broncos will only carry two quarterbacks on their roster.
