Ada linksters 2nd at county invitational
The Ada golf team finished a solid second at the four-team Hardin County Bill McClain Memorial Invitational at the Kenton Memorial Golf Course Saturday.
Kenton won the event with 182 strokes, followed by Ada at 205 shots. Riverdale was third (225), while Ridgemont came in a distant fourth (265).
Senior Dexter Woods finished third overall and led the Bulldogs with a nine-hole score of 47. Junior Geddes Klingler carded a score of 49, and senior Andrew Rush registered a 50.
Sophomore Jack Baumgartner was the fourth Bulldog scorer with a round of 59.
Senior Kamron Wilkerson carded a 60.
Kenton's Max Houshalter was match medalist in the 19-player field with a low round of 40.
Ada is now 6-15. The Bulldogs play an NWC tri-match Tuesday, Sept. 7 at the Bluffton Golf Course.
