Peggy Essinger lived on Catawba Island
Peggy Jane Marthana Ann (Richardson) Essinger, age 86, formerly of Catawaba Island, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at her home in Ada.
She was born on October 9, 1935 in Lewistown, Ohio. Peggy married the love of her life, Giles Essinger on July 3, 1960 in Bellefontaine, Ohio. They were married for sixty-one years. Peggy graduated from Muncie Central High School in Muncie, IN and Carnegie Institute, Cleveland, OH. Peggy worked in the medical field for over fifty years. She worked the last twenty years for an oncology practice in Sandusky, OH. Having lived on Catawaba Island until recently, she enjoyed boating and fishing. Peggy also graduated from the Aeronautical Navigation School in Galion, OH and always navigated when they flew. Peggy and Giles made numerous trips abroad and to the Caribbean and throughout the United States.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, and lifetime friends Rick and Jane Crace of Ada; and several nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Richardson; a brother, Bill; and a sister, Phyllis (Jim) Richardson.
Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada. Burial will be in Hueston Cemetery, Forest.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20th at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
