Beth Gossard owned 302 Carryout
Elizabeth R. “Beth” Gossard, age 91, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 11, 1930, in Lima, Ohio to the late Maurice F. and Mary J. (O’Connell) Higgins. On June 22, 1957, Beth married Lyman L. Gossard and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2003.
Beth is survived by her three children: son, Marlon (Melissa) Gossard of Ada; daughter, Mona Gossard of Ada and daughter, Maura (Greg) Reese of Belle Center; daughter-in-law, Lisa Gossard of Harrod; eight grandchildren: Molly (John Lord) Gossard, Andrea (Joe) Payne, Bradley (Rachel) Gossard, Stacy (Jeff) Neise, Kayla (Joel) Llewellyn, Madisyn Gossard, Sidney Gossard and Carson Gossard; and fifteen great grandchildren: Karley, Lexy, Lydia, Hali, Parker, Cole, Stella, Wade, Knox, Aria, Cruz, Monnie, Gianna, Ruby and Vaughn; two nieces: Noralu Kahle and Maryann McCullough; and a nephew, Tom Higgins.
She was preceded in death by her three sons: Michael, Matthew and Monnie Gossard; son-in-law, John D. Reese; a brother, J. Clair Higgins; a sister, Rosemary Van Scoder; and a nephew, Jerry Higgins.
Beth was owner and operator of the 302 Carryout in Ada. She formerly worked at Sears Roebuck and was the manager of the Buying Office for eleven years. Beth also worked for many years as a microwave oven demonstrator. She was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church, Lima. Beth was a 1948 graduate of St. Rose Catholic School, Lima. Beth was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at St. Rose Catholic Church, 523 N. West Street, Lima, Ohio 45801 with Father Kent Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
