Esther “Joan” Zimmer owned Joan's Beauty Shop
Esther “Joan” Zimmer, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.
She was born on February 15, 1932 in Ada, Ohio to the late C. Raymond and Donna (Shrider) Long. On February 15, 1951, Joan married Russell “Rusty” Zimmer and who preceded her in death on April 2, 1983.
Joan is survived by her two children: Bob (Sue) Zimmer of Leesberg, Florida and Pat (Dennis) Dearth of Ada; four grandchildren: Jamie Fall (James) Smith, Michelle Burgoon, Lucas (Kelly) Dearth and Lance (Nichole) Dearth; five great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Sharon Quay of Kenton.
She was preceded in death by three great grandsons; and two brothers: Edison and Urban Long.
Joan was the owner and operator of Joan's Beauty Shop for over thirty years. She was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren, Harrod. Joan was a loving mother and grandmother and she was loved by many.
Family Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022, at County Line Church of the Brethren, 4227 N. Hardin Road, Harrod, Ohio 45850 with Pastor Thomas Dearth officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3 at the County Line Church of the Brethren, 4227 N. Hardin Road, Harrod.
