Apollo Career Center report to Ada Schools
Apollo Career Center Superintendent Keith Horner attended the December 16 Ada Board of Education meeting and presented an update including the documents attached to this article.
There are currently 27 Ada students enrolled at the career center at 3325 Shawnee Rd. Lima, which serves eleven high schools. Ada students are participating in Automotive Technology, Building and Renovations, Career Exploration, Carpentry, Construction Equipment Technology, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education, Fire/EMS Technology, Health Science, Sports Fitness and Exercise Science, and Welding and Fabrication programs.
Horner noted that potential Robotics and HVAC programs were in the works and that new opportunities allow some students to alternate two weeks in class, then two weeks getting work experience at a business.
He also commented that in 2022 Apollo will be asking voters to support a maintenance levy.
