Local treats for your sweetheart
This year Valentine's Day falls on a Monday. If you have yet to get something for your sweetheart, you don't need to leave town to find a traditional or non-traditional gift.
The Icon took a quick tour around Ada's downtown, asking for tips and snapping photos. There are more options than you can visit in an afternoon (once you get chatting). Here's where we dropped in:
#1 Ruthie's Boarding Room, 220 N. Main. Lots of gifts including candles, candy, decorative items, etc. The shop even has a man cave corner.
#2 Beatitudes, 210 N. Main. In additional to holiday-themed displays, the thrift shop has a good stock of Valentine's Day cards.
#3 Buckeye East, 123 E. Buckeye. Shop or bring your sweetie for coffee. Sweets, books, stuffed animals, miniatures clay sculptures, and mini heart pillows caught the Icon's eye.
#4 302 Carry Out, 302 S. Main. Turn Valentine's Day into a party for two with treats from beef jerky to red wine.
#5 Carol Slane Florist, 410 S. Main. Flowers are a classic way to say "I love you" and Ada's florist is ready with the roses and more.
#6 Retro Music Ltd., 4171 OH-235. Once you start looking for love and passion on vinyl, you'll find it in every bin from Country to Jazz.
#7 The Cask Room, 127 S. Main. Thinking fine wine for your Valentine? Take a seat or take a bottle home.
#8 Tavern 101, 101 S. Main. Treat your Valentine to breakfast, lunch or dinner, Lunch and evening specials Monday-Friday.
#9 Whatever Cards & Games, LLC, 113 N Main. Games from floor to ceiling. Our hunt for heart-melting game options turned up The Princess Bride "fill in the phrase" card game. Inconceivable!
