Bernita A. Latimore, age 88, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 12:03 a.m. at Vancrest of Ada.
She was born on January 28, 1934, in McGuffey, Ohio to Glenn and Nona (West) Johnson who preceded her in death. On February 15, 1953, Bernita married Francis Lewis “Lewie” Latimore and he preceded her in death on January 27, 2005.
Bernita was the former owner of Latimore SOHIO in McGuffey, Ohio. She was a member of the McGuffey Church of Christ and a member of the Ada O.E.S. Her life was her church and her faith was very strong.
She is survived by a brother, Gary (Bonnie) Johnson of Wapakoneta; two sisters-in-law: Katherine “Kack” Johnson of McGuffey and Nancy Johnson of Roanoke, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: James Johnson and Willis Johnson.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the McGuffey Church of Christ, 203 Columbus Street, McGuffey, Ohio 45859 with David Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29t at the McGuffey Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the McGuffey Church of Christ, 203 Columbus Street, P.O. Box 303, McGuffey, Ohio 45859.
