Jacqueline Gahman Rippe was Director of the Service Center for the South Florida Water Management Center
Jacqueline Gahman Rippe, 62, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully Friday July 8, 2022. Jacque was born in Lima, Ohio on December 9, 1959 to the late William (Bill) Peter and Mary Lucelle (Martin) Gahman. Jacque was a 1978 graduate of Ada High School in Ada, Ohio. In 1982 she graduated from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering.
On September 30, 1995, she married Michael G. Rippe who proceeded her in death on March 12, 2008. Jacque was a faithful and devoted Christian. She grew up attending Ada First United Methodist Church in Ada, Ohio. In Florida she and her husband Mike attended Grace Church in Fort Myers. She recently started attending CityGate Ministries of Fort Myers, Florida.
She worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation Lima, Ohio. She moved to Florida in 1986 and worked at Hole, Montes and Associates, Inc., Pokorny Engineering, Butler Engineering, Inc. and then started as a surface water reviewer and ended as Director of the Service Center for the South Florida Water Management Center. Jacque received her Professional Florida Engineering License on August 10, 1987. She was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and Florida Engineering Society.
Jacque was proceeded in death by her parents William (Bill) and Mary Gahman, in-laws Pete and Susan Rippe, and brother-in-laws Randy Hughes and Charlie Stafford.
Jacque is survived by her brother William (Bill) Gahman Jr. (Somerset, Ohio); sisters Carolyn Cross (Lima, Ohio) and Sheila Hughes (Ada, Ohio); in-laws John and Pamma Rippe and Claudia Stafford. Though Jacque did not have children she had several nieces and nephews she loved dearly and several “grand babies” that lovingly referred to her as “Aunt Granny.” Jacque is also survived by a very special lady in her and Mike’s lives, Aunt Ella Forsythe.
Jacque loved to be outdoors with her beloved pups Foxy and Nixie. She enjoyed tending her flowers and enjoying the wondrous nature that surrounded her own little piece of heaven here on earth. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to help out with Church events, fundraiser or anything asked of her. Jacque served on the Board of United Way and Calousa Nature Center. She was very active in Samaritan Purse Operation Christmas Child. She had a passion for card making and was a consultant for Close To My Heart. Jacque loved having the girls over to sit for hours making cards on her back patio.
It was Jacques' wish to be cremated. A Celebration Of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on, July 17, 2022, at CityGate Ministries, 1735 Jackson St., Fort Myers, Florida, 33901. Her wish was that donations be made to Samaritan Purse Operation Christmas Child, Ada First United Methodist Church, CityGate Ministries or the donor's choice in lieu of flowers.
