Terry Lee McCool served in the U.S. Air Force
Terry Lee McCool, 74, of Hermann, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 12, at his home surrounded by his family.
Terry was born in Ada, Ohio on August 11, 1947, the son of the late Delmar & Lena (Kepley) McCool.
He was married to Sandra Jeanne Murphy on August 31, 2003, in Troy, Illinois. Sandra preceded him in death on September 16, 2020.
Terry was a military veteran having served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. After his service, he worked as an insurance salesman and also sold time shares for a large resort chain. He recently retired as an over the road truck driver.
Terry was known as a good story and joke teller. He enjoyed playing cards and the guitar, and dancing (though he wasn't very good at the latter.) He loved John Wayne movies, classic cars, motorcycles, and watching his beloved Kansas City Chiefs play.
Terry is survived by three daughters, Tracy Davis & husband Todd, of Washington, Missouri; Darcy Nachtmann and Molly McCool, both of Hermann, Missouri; a son, Kelly Brian McCool, of Taswell, Indiana; his brothers, Gary, Jon, and Robert McCool, a sister, Donna Hern, nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sandra Murphy-McCool, a son, Thomas McCool, a stepson, Michael Podshadley, a grandson, Jonas Schardan, and a brother, David McCool.
No services will be held at this time. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Jonas Schardan Memorial Scholarship Fund C/O Scott Credit Union, 501 Edwardsville Rd., Troy, IL 62294. Arrangements are under the direction of Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
