Hootenannies watch feed grinding
By Faith Holbrook, Reporter
The Hardin Co Hootenannies last meeting was opened by our vice-president, Megan Williams at the home of Preston Brien. Levi Beiler led the American Flag pledge and Isaac Davis led the group in the 4-H pledge. Roll call was to answer the question on how your livestock projects were doing, and found 10 members present.
Members were informed July 1st was when they need to go online to the 4-H site to set up times for judging which is set for July 17th for still projects and Aug 7th for livestock judging. We were also reminded about the YMCA Youth Triathlon coming up on July 27th. We are going to help as volunteers as a community service.
Levi Beiler gave a demonstration on Robotics. He was really excited about the Lego Robot he had made. Preston Brien had his father help with his report on feed grinder safety. They also allowed us to help as they mixed laying hen feed. We all got to help put some of the ingredients for the feed into the grinder and learned what all the ingredients did for the hens as they lay eggs. It was very interesting. Sean Hurley will give a presentation at our next meeting.
Watch next week for the remainder of this report. The next meeting will be on July 7th at Faith Holbrook's farm at 4 PM. We will be making our tie-dye T-shirts.
