Irene Florence Caudill was a homemaker
Irene Florence Caudill, age 98, of Harrod, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 9, 1924, in Bonanza, Kentucky to the late Harrison and Lula (Whitaker) Wright. On July 22, 1941, Irene married Powell Caudill and he preceded her in death on August 16, 1999.
Irene is survived by her son, William Caudill.
She was preceded in death by her four sisters: Josie Hughes, Lee Prater, Nora Ramey and Myrtle Holbrook; and nine brothers: Sammie, Burl, Willie, Fred, Herman, Hershel, Brice, Lawrence and Lonnie Wright.
Irene was a homemaker. She was a member of the LaFayette Missionary Baptist Church. Irene was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #121 of LaFayette and served as Worthy Matron in 1976 and 1980. Irene was known as the Pie Lady and a mother to all. She was an avid gardener.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
