Dolores Jean Searfoss, age 89, of Harrod, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 6:12 p.m. at her residence, surrounded by her family.  

She was born on May 16, 1934, in Lima, Ohio to the late John and Nevelda (Hall) Basil.  On September 11, 1955, Dolores married Milan Dean Searfoss and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2023. 

Dolores is survived by her three children: Becky (Gary) Werling of Harrod, Ryan (Teresa) Searfoss of Harrod, and Bob (Kathy) Searfoss of West Chester; two grandchildren: Chad Werling, and Nick (Morgan) Searfoss; four great grandchildren: Charlotte, Beckham, Calvin and Hudson Searfoss.  

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Searfoss.  

Dolores was a nurse at Lima Memorial Hospital.  She also worked at the Oaks Convalescence Home of Lima and for Dr. Nielson’s Office in Waynesfield.  Dolores attended the County Line Church, Harrod. 

Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Pastor Thomas Dearth officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Westminster.       

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.  

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Community Health Professionals of Ada-Hospice and/or St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital.
