The 2023 Pride of Ada Fireworks stared down the threat of thunderstorms on Saturday, July 1 and provided an exciting display at War Memorial Stadium, as well as an evening of food and fun from 5:00-10:30 p.m.
While the Icon has seen comments showing that the display was enjoyed from far and near, those who came to the park had the added pleasure of a large area closed to traffic, numerous food trucks, a red-white-and-blue photo opportunity, kiddie train rides and convenience of everyday park amenities including the large playground, picnic shelters, the shady grove, soccer fields to run in and plenty of parking.
The result was a relaxed, family friendly atmosphere. As the skies darkened, mini-fireworks shows popped up around nearby. But the big display, funded by an ad-hoc group of donors, didn’t begin until 10:00 p.m. when a game at War Memorial Park Stadium was finished and the stadium lights could be dimmed.
