Hardin Soil & Water Conservation District to hold 4-H-FFA contest
Submit topics by August 25
On Tuesday, September 5, the Hardin Soil & Water Conservation District will host a contest for 4-H members/FFA members with a conservation project. Registration starts at 10 a.m. and judging begins at 10:30 a.m. Special consideration for scheduling will be given to those participants showing livestock that morning.
Contest participants must give a 4-5 minute oral presentation (not to exceed 7 minutes) about their conservation project, including collecting information for the project, constructing the project, completing the project and knowledge gained. Participants will be judged on project knowledge, project completion, organization and neatness, and quality of presentation. Limit one entry per participant.
There will be three classes for entries:
Class I: Beginners- ages 8-10
Class II: Intermediate- ages 11-13
Class III: Advanced- ages 14-19
Approximately $250 in cash awards will be divided to at least the top three participants in each class.
Self-Determined and FFA SAE projects must be approved by the Soil and Water Conservation District office; topics must be submitted by August 25, 2023.
