Garry L. Simon worked for Rockwell International
Garry L. Simon, age 82, of Ada, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at his residence in Ada.
He was born on December 12, 1940, in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Harry D. and Dorothy Irene (Geiger) Simon. On December 28, 1981 Garry married Mary M. Castle and she survives in Ada.
Also surviving are his two children: Randy (Lisa Hemry) Simon of Ada and Robin Plummer of Kettering; five grandchildren: Trisha (Brian) Hemmelgarn, Shannon (Lori Fisher) Simon, Jennifer Long, Nicole Smith and Angela (Tyler Stringfield) Plummer; thirteen great grandchildren: Skylar, Gabe, Cierra, Alexah, Lukas, Kane, Lauren, Eli, Brooklynn, Brooklynn, Braxton, Marissa and Haley; a brother, Donavon (Diana) Simon; a sister, Sandra Poland; a step-brother, Dan Daniels; and two step-sisters: Donna (Jerry) Jarvela and Connie Ferris.
Garry was preceded in death by his son, David Simon; son-in-law, Frank Plummer; stepmother, Evelyn Simon; and two brothers: Ronald Keith Simon and Charles Richard Simon.
Garry retired from Rockwell International of Kenton. He was a member of the Kenton Moose Lodge #428. When Garry was younger, he owned Simon Stables and did harness racing. He was and avid Ohio State University Buckeyes fan and loved to golf.
Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Rev. James Gatchell officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
