Sheriff's Office to provide Dog Warden and Pound services in 2024
The following notice was posted on the Hardin County Sherrif's Office Facebook page on February 20, 2024:
Sheriff Everhart is pleased to announce that he and the Hardin County Commissioners have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding in regards to the Hardin County Dog Warden and dog pound.
Sheriff Everhart will begin managing the Dog Warden and pound effective immediately for the 2024 calendar year.
At years end the Sheriff will meet with the commissioners to determine if the management of the Dog Warden is a good fit for everyone. If so then a longer term “contract” will be entered into.
The Sheriff is looking forward to this new endeavor and asks for your patience as this is new to everyone.
