WAYNESFIELD__Waynesfield-Goshen senior Dalton Jordan signed a letter of intent to play college football at Ohio Northern University next season on Friday afternoon.
He was named first team All-Northwest Central Conference on offense and defense in 2023.
A wide receiver, Jordan repeated on the first team all-league offense last fall. He caught 51 aerials for 1,263 yards and 21 TDs.
In nine league games, he snared 45 passes for 1,092 yards and 19 scores. As a defensive back, Jordan snagged six interceptions, including two TD returns. He also had 34 tackles and two fumble recoveries to earn first team All-NWCC defense honors for the second straight year.
Jordan helped W-G to a 10-1 record and a second straight undefeated NWCC title at 9-0 last season. He also played basketball, baseball and runs track for the Tigers.
Andy Fries took over as the new Ohio Northern head coach in mid-December of 2023. ONU was 4-6 overall and 4-5 in the Ohio Athletic Conference in 2023.
Fries, a graduate of Otterbein University, replaces long-time coach Dean Paul. Paul was let go after 20 seasons at the helm of the Polar Bear program, where he amassed a 121-77 record and won first round playoff games in 2010 and 2015.
Fries comes to ONU on the heels of four seasons as an assistant coach at Rose-Hulman (Ind.). He served as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at R-H from 2020-23.
In 2023, offensive coordinator Fries coached the high-powered Engineers offense to 20 th place in Division III scoring. The R-H offense also finished 13th nationally in sacks allowed.
Fries previously coached one season at Davenport (Mich.) in 2018, and for three seasons at his alma mater Otterbein from 2015-17.
