ARLINGTON __ The visiting Ada High School boys varsity golf team beat Arlington in a dual match at Sycamore Springs Golf Course Tuesday afternoon, August 13.
Improving Ada (1-1) earned its first win of the season by 13 strokes over the Red Devils, 209-222.
Bulldog senior Ethan Lawrence was match medalist after registering a back-nine hole score of 48.
Sophomore Brody Rister shot a 51 to come in second for the Bulldogs.
Sophomore Lawson Klingler was right behind him, carding a solid round of 52.
Junior Sam Crawford was the fourth Ada scorer with a 58.
“It was a good win,” said Bulldog head coach Kurt Klingler. “The kids played well, and we are still hoping to shoot a lower team score. Everyone was excited for Ethan to play well enough to earn match medalist.”
Ada finished 10th in the 12-team Bluffton Pirate Invitational Monday at the Bluffton Golf Course.
Liberty-Benton won the tournament.
Ada plays for the third consecutive day in a five-team tournament at the Bluffton Golf Course Wednesday. The Bulldogs will face off against Pandora-Gilboa, Ottoville, Delphos Jefferson and the Pirates.
