Kiwanis Club provides two Ada students with scholarships
President Harold Friesner called the 29th meeting of the 2011–2012 Kiwanis year to order at 12:05 p.m. in McIntosh Center, Ohio Northern University, Ada.
The Invocation was offered by Kiwanian Jon Umphress.
The birthday of member Al Baillis, (May 11th 88 years young) was celebrated in song.
The membership anniversary of Jon Umphress, May 6, 1997 (15 years) was noted.
The wedding anniversary of Jeff & Anne Schulman, (May 7th) was also noted.
Member Accomplishments: Mark Shull and Bill Fuller were at the meeting to tell us about their recent endeavors in the hospital.
In business:
-The membership heard an updated financial report from Treasurer Bryan Marshall, including an update on the 60th annual Pancake and Sausage Day.
-Secretary Brian Myers reported the following:
The Ada Police will hold a Bike Rodeo on Saturday June 2 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ada Police Department parking lot. Each participating rider will receive a free bike helmet.
-Thanks were received from the Ada Village Tree Commission, thanking the club for their recent donation.
-Bob McCurdy reported on meeting with Harry & Myrna Shutt at the Kewpee in Lima, and the presentation of a picture and Wilson footballs to them.
-The club will present scholarship awards of $1,000 each to Heather Rowe & Mackenzie Fell the annual Ada High School Senior Awards dinner on Wednesday May 16th. Harold Friesner and Jon Umphress will attend the meeting.
-The club will sponsor the Tuesday June 5th meal at Restore.
-Bill Fuller reported that Circle K will not meet again until
the fall semester.

This Web site includes the texts of official Kiwanis documents, extensive information on club administrative and service topics, an on-line Kiwanis supplies catalog, the latest organizational news, and links to clubs, districts, and individual Kiwanians around the world.

Bill Fuller gave a fun presentation titled “The Top Ten Things I Learned from Shoulder Surgery.” The surgery was the result of a rock climbing accident he had earlier in the year.
President Harold Friesner adjourned the meeting at 12:52 p.m.
