Ada Bulldog golf wins dual

BLUFFTON – The Ada High School boys golf team hosted and won a close dual match with Pandora-Gilboa Tuesday at the Bluffton Golf Club.
Ada triumphed with a season-low total of 194 strokes, five shots ahead of P-G at 199. Elmwood was also supposed to compete in a triangular match, but wasn’t able to make it.
The win improved the Bulldog season record in dual and tri-matches to 5-4.
“The guys played well,” said Ada head coach Kurt Klingler. “It was great competition between both teams. Brody shot a PR, two shots off the school record (36).
“Elmwood didn’t make it, possibly due to bus trouble. The guys were all excited with how they all played, and I was as well,” Klingler added.
Sophomore Brody Rister fired a low personal-best round of 38 to pace Ada and win match medalist honors.
Senior Ethan Lawrence carded a 48 to tie for second in the match.
Sophomore Lawson Klingler shot a solid round of 50. Junior Sam Crawford posted a 58 to round out the four Ada scorers.
Freshman Grady Morgan added a round of 74.
Ada plays in the annual Hardin County Invitational at Kenton Memorial Golf Course Saturday morning.
