ONU women's golf places 3rd at ONU Wilson Football Kickoff Golf Classic

The Ohio Northern women's golf team opened the fall portion of its 2024-25 season Sunday and Monday with a third place finish at the ONU Wilson Football Kickoff Golf Classic in Honor of Joe Campoli tournament at Colonial Golfers Club.
The Basics
The Polar Bears finished third of six teams with a 346-329—675.
Adrian (Mich.) won the team title with a 317-314—631. Heidelberg was second with a 334-338—672, Ohio Wesleyan was third with a 354-366—720, Baldwin Wallace was fifth with a 366-360—726 and Bluffton was sixth with a 416-395—811. Capital only played on Monday and carded a 394.
ONU Record: 3-2 Overall.
Venue: Colonial Golfers Club - Harrod, Ohio.
ONU Individuals
Junior Marisa Alfes (Bellbrook) won Medalist honors by two shots with a 74-79—153.
Senior Rhianna Firmstone (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) was sixth out of 36 golfers with an 80-82—162.
Freshman Ella Baird (Avon Lake/Magnificat) was seventh with an 88-77—165.
Freshman Taylor Blackburn (Liberty Township/Lakota West) was 16th with an 85-90—175.
Freshman Stella Burns (Medina) tied for 18th with a 95-85—170.
Notables
The tournament consisted of 18 holes each day Sunday and Monday.
Head coach Chad Bucci is 476-291-2 in his 11th season at the helm of the ONU women's golf team, a winning percentage of .620.

The Polar Bears will return to action Sept. 13-146 at the Heidelberg Fall Invitational.
