Ridgemont Local Schools student faces charges of inducing panic
The Hardin County Sheriff's Office released the following announcement on the afternoon of September 25:
The Hardin County Sheriff's Office and Ridgemont Local School District [Mt. Victory] learned of a threat made by a current student on September 25, 2024.
The School Resource Officer and school officials immediately removed the student from class. As a result of the investigation, one juvenile was taken into custody and faces charges of inducing panic. The juvenile was transported to the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center where he will remain until he can be arraigned in the Hardin County Juvenile Court.
Ridgemont Local Schools provided information to members of the school district via parent square immediately after the investigation was completed.
Sheriff Everhart and staff appreciate the positive and effective relationship between the school district and law enforcement. School safety is and will continue to be a priority of the Hardin County Sheriff's Office.
