On the afternoon of Monday, October 7, Ohio Northern University issued the following notice regarding the lockdown of the Lehr administration building due to an email threat. Later in the day, the university posted a notice that the Lehr Building will resume normal operations on Tuesday Oct. 8, 2024 at 8:00 a.m.
"Out of an abundance of caution we have locked down the Lehr Building after receiving an email threatening an employee in the building. ONU Public Safety and Ada Police have increased their presence in the area. At this time, there is no threat to the broader campus community and classes and activities may continue as normal.
"The safety of our students, faculty and staff remains our top priority. If you see any suspicious activity, call 911 or report it to Public Safety at 417-772-2222.
"If you haven’t yet, please be sure to sign up for our Rave Alert System and the Rave Guardian App to receive safety alerts directly to your phone. Students, faculty and staff may invite friends and family to join their safety network."
