First United Methodist Church in Ada has voted to move forward with construction of their new church building on their historic site in downtown Ada.
This $6 million, 25,000-square-foot project will be supported by insurance receipts from the tragic March 2012 fire and significant gifts from members, friends, and other churches.
This past Sunday, the church members overwhelmingly approved both the building project and the budget to support the effort. This was the final approval needed to proceed after receiving the unanimous blessing of the United Methodist District Committee on Building and Location.
Construction is expected to start in the first quarter of 2014 with occupancy by Easter Sunday, 2015. The architect for the project is RCM of Findlay and the contractor will be selected through a bid process early in 2014.
