Bulldog boys soccer blanks Spencerville

ADA__The Ada High School boys soccer team defeated visiting Spencerville 4-0 in a non-league match on Saturday, September 6.
The shutout win upped the Bulldog record to 3-2-1. Ada scored all four goals in the first half by a pair of juniors.
The Bearcats fell to 0-4-1 with the defeat.
“I’m really proud of the team’s performance today,” said Ada head coach Aaron Acheson. “We came out with intensity, controlled possession, and created a lot of chances. The fact that we had three different players providing assists shows how connected we are as a unit.”
Ada scored first on an Andrew Allen goal six minutes into the game off a Connor McKean assist.
Junior Carson Conley found the back of the net at the 22-minute mark via an assist by Chase Jarrett.
Allen scored again four minutes later off an Evan Miller pass.
Conley tallied his second goal at the 13-minute mark unassisted. “The effort on that goal resulted from Carson pressing high and forcing a turnover,” Acheson noted.
“That is exactly the kind of energy we want.”
Ada put 19 shots on goal compared to just two by the Bearcats.
“Defensively, we stayed disciplined and limited them to just two shots on target,” said Acheson. “It was a complete team effort.”
Bulldog keeper Jacob Rush made two saves.
The Ada JV beat Mohawk 3-0, a team they lost to 5-2 a few weeks ago. “They have improved and totally dominated the game,” said Acheson. “Great team win for them as well.”
Ada plays at Fort Jennings (2-3) Monday, Sept. 8.
