Chalmer Rowe was retired from Local #329
Chalmer Rowe, age 83, of Alger, Ohio, was born on September 27, 1942, to the late Jake and Effie Rowe. He was peacefully called home to the Lord on October 8, 2025.
Chalmer is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Kimberly (Ronald) Reineke of Alger; and three grandchildren: Savanah Fout of Sidney, Cody Hurst of Kentucky and Tyler Miranda of Sidney; twelve great grandchildren; brother, Bernie (Teresa) Rowe of LaFayette; two sisters: Rosie (Buster) Evans and Ethel Arnett all of Alger; and many nieces and nephews who he dearly loved.
Chalmer is also preceded in death by his beloved dog, Lilly; two brothers, Kelly Rowe and Dexter Rowe; and two sisters: Florence Quicksall and Joy Shepherd.
Chalmer retired from Local #329 after thirty years of service. He was an avid lover of music and enjoyed playing his banjo with his many bands. Chalmer proudly won a banjo-picking contest and was the number one banjo player in all of Hardin County, Ohio. He loved his family and working around his garage, keeping up on his lawn and property. Chalmer loved listening to and playing his music. In the last years of his life, Chalmer’s faith only grew stronger as he struggled with illness and Alzheimer's, always keeping a smile for everyone. There will be a void in our hearts; we will forever love and miss him.
A celebration of Chalmer’s life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, P.O. Box 41, Alger, Ohio 45812, for the benevolence of the family.
