Bulldog girls basketball romps over Perry

ADA–The Ada High School girls basketball team crushed visiting Perry 76-9 in a non-conference mismatch on Saturday, December 6.
The Bulldog girls raced to a 22-3 lead after one quarter, and the hosts ballooned the margin to 42-6 at halftime. Ada won the second half 34-3, including a 16-0 shutout in the final stanza.
The Bulldog girls improved to 3-2 overall with the lopsided victory.
Perry fell to 0-3 overall after the resounding defeat.
Ada freshman Te’a Griffth led all scorers with 16 points. Senior Ashley Hevlin tallied a career-high 14 points, and senior Anna Conley also netted 14 markers.
Sophomore Emily Gibson tallied a career-best 10 markers.
Conley poured in 10 first-period points as Ada raced to a 19-point margin.
Griffith netted six points and Hevlin added four in the second period to help build a commanding 36-point halftime margin.
Griffith tallied three baskets and Kenley Poling scored four markers in the third period as the Bulldogs pulled ahead 60-9 behind an 18-3 stanza.
Hevlin notched eight points in the final quarter, while Jaylin St. Laurent and Gibson added four apiece.
Poling added eight points. Grace Lawrence and Shay Smith each scored four points as nine Bulldogs dented the scoring column.
Ada connected on a whopping 35 two-point goals, made no triples and converted all six of their free throws (100 percent).
Perry sank just one two-pointer, hit two trifectas and converted one of four charity stripe tosses (25 percent).
Johnson hit both Perry triples and scored six points.
The struggling Commodores have been outscored 232-20 in their three losses this season, an average of 77.3-6.7 ppg.
Ada plays at Cory-Rawson (1-4) on Monday, December 8. The Hornet girls started out 0-4, but won at Ridgemont 34-29 in their last game on December 4.
