Berniece “Bea” Collingsworth worked for Excello/Textron
Berniece “Bea” Collingsworth, age 96, of Alger, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born on July 9, 1929, in McGuffey, Ohio, to the late Troy and Lorena (Bradley) Prater. Bea married Paris F. “Pat” Collingsworth, and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1980.
Bea is survived by her two sons: Paris “Pat” (Beverley) Collingsworth, Jr. of Alger and Steve (Nikki) Collingsworth of Alger; daughter-in-law, Brenda Collingsworth; seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Phyllis Fry of Alger and Linda Dienstberger of Alger.
Also preceding her in death are her son, G. Michael Collingsworth; daughter-in-law, Peg Collingsworth; three brothers and one sister.
Bea retired from Excello/Textron. She was a member of the McGuffey Church of Christ. Bea was a former Alger Council member and a member of the AMFC.
Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger, with David Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 3 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger.
Memorial contributions may be made to the McGuffey Church of Christ.
