Sirens to be tested weekly at 11:00 a.m.

MEDIA RELEASE__Since 2024 the Village of Ada has been working to improve emergency weather notification coverage throughout the Village. As of this morning, two new warning sirens have been installed and are fully operational. The sirens were strategically placed to ensure maximum coverage throughout the village in the event of potential tornadic activity.  

As part of this upgrade, all siren testing and activation will now be managed remotely by the National Weather  Service and will no longer be conducted manually by local officials.

Routine testing will occur each Wednesday at approximately 11:00 a.m. and will last about 60 seconds. Weekly testing will be suspended if there is a potential for severe weather on the scheduled test day. 

The Village of Ada remains committed to taking proactive steps to protect residents and enhance emergency response capabilities. Residents are encouraged to remain weather-aware and to utilize multiple methods of receiving  emergency alerts, including NOAA weather radios and mobile alert systems.
