ONU Men's Swimming and Diving remains undefeated following BW victory
179-59 victory at Baldwin Wallace
MEDIA RELEASE—The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team remained undefeated on the 2025-26 season after a 179-59 victory at Baldwin Wallace on Saturday.
THE BASICS
- Records: Ohio Northern (6-0 overall, 3-0 OAC); Baldwin Wallace (4-5 Overall, 1-3 OAC).
- Venue: BW Natatorium, Berea, Ohio.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Selby Wilt (Findlay) won three events on the day to lead the Polar Bears.
- Wilt won the 100-yard freestyle in ::49.21 and was on ONU's winning 200 medley relay and 200 free relay teams.
- He combined with senior Simon Bopple (Cleveland/Shaker Heights), senior Nathan Clark (Cleves/Elder) and sophomore Chase McCluskey (Pickerington/North) to win the 200 medley relay in 1:38.20 in the opening event of the day.
- Wilt, senior Tyler Edmonds (Youngsville, La./Southside), sophomore Austin Peace (Eaton) and senior Isaac Reddy (Maryland Heights, Mo./Pattonville) wrapped up the meet by winning the 200 free relay in 1:28.95.
- Edmonds also won the 400 I.M. in 4:31.52.
- McCluskey also won the 500 free in 5:12.91.
- Senior Aiden Magoolaghan (Hinckley/Highland) won the 50 free in :22.35.
- Junior Evan Miller (Cincinnati/LaSalle) won the 200 fly in 2:05.71.
- Junior Grayson Morgan (Clyde) won the 200 breast in 2:18.43.
- Junior Riley Verb (Bluffton) won the 200 free in 1:52.38.
- Freshman Liam Donovan (Dublin/Coffman) won the 1000 free in 10:43.08.
NOTABLES
- The meet consisted of 13 events, including nine individual races, two diving events and two relays.
- The Polar Bears won 10 of the 13 events, including both relays and eight of the nine individual races.
- Austin Veltman is 42-20 in his seventh season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
UP NEXT
- The Polar Bears will return to action Jan. 24 at home with NCAA Division II foe Ashland.
