Larry Dean Fleming served in the Ohio National Guard
Larry Dean Fleming, age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 19, 2026, surrounded by his cherished family.
Larry was born on December 22, 1950, in Bluffton, Ohio, to Guy and Ruth (Guider) Fleming and grew up in Ada, Ohio. Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Thelma (Risner) Fleming; his parents; sister, Roberta Smith; and two brothers: Charles Fleming and Robert Fleming. Larry is survived by a sister, Linda (Fleming) Lawrence.
Larry was a loving husband to Tammy Schakett, of eight years. He deeply loved his daughters: Jessica Fleming, Lyndsay Fleming and Misty Fleming. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews where he shared stories about his days playing in a band, his service with the Ohio National Guard, family vacations, fishing, classic cars, his Scottish heritage, and love for bourbon and whisky, particularly Evan Williams and Abelour.
Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada, with Chaplain Wesley Fleming officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada with graveside services conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, January 24 at the funeral home in Ada.
