Bulldog swim teams compete in league championships

NORTH ROBINSON__The Ada High School swim teams competed on Saturday, January 24 at the eight-team North Central Ohio Swim League championships.
Meet host Colonel Crawford swept the boys and girls team titles. It was the 10th consecutive league crown for the Eagle girls, who rolled to the championship with 440 points. Bluffton finished a distant second at 202, while Upper Sandusky was third (168).
The Eagle boys scored 376 points to win the program's fourth NCOSL crown over the past six seasons. The Bluffton boys finished as league runner-up with 291 points, while Upper Sandusky was third at 204.
The Bulldog boys finished fifth with 115 points, while the Ada girls came in sixth with 65.
The Bulldog males came in ahead of Fostoria (73), McComb (28) and Bucyrus Wynford (20).
The Ada girls finished ahead of Wynford (26) and Marion Elgin (24).
“We had a lot of time drops for personal records and multiple podium places,” said veteran Ada head coach Ashley Robey. “The swimmers have been working hard and doing great this season, and we are excited to see what the rest of the season has in store.”
Jacob Szippl won the boys 100-yard freestyle and took second in the 100 backstroke to post the top Ada finishes.
Ada swims on its Senior Night Tuesday, February 3 for a dual meet vs. Kenton in the Hardin County YMCA at 6 p.m.
